Let me formally introduce you to the...
It seems like rows of little crowns stacked upon each other. See?
This one all started as I was happily rummaging through my stash of
Scheepjes *Colour Crafter. Believe me--the stash is HUGE! And with 93 colors to choose from I could really go to town. I pushed myself a bit out of my typical color palette with this one, but I'm happy with the way they play together. They have sort of a "Royal" feel, huh?

I've included the colors I used, yarn quantities and the multiples number in the pattern so you can make it the exact same size as this blanket (35in X 43in; 89cm X 109cm) , or upsize it nearly 50% using the same number of skeins that I used. If you are interested in getting your hands on some of this gloriously soft, beautifully colored, and affordable yarn--you can find it at Wool Warehouse *here.
I've also included in the pattern a few pictures to help with the trickier bits, but it's rated as an Intermediate skill level pattern.
As I worked out the border, I decided that something with a simple clean line that framed the detail of the stitch pattern would be best. Honestly, I'm pretty pleased with it.
You can purchase this pattern with confidence as it was tested by some talented gals who worked hard to count stitches, suggest improvements and make certain it is accurate and worthy of its royal name.
I hope you like it, too. You can get the pattern in the shop of your choice:

You continue to amaze me with your gorgeous creations. We've come a long way from making doilies and dc baby blankets. I have bought the pattern and added it to my WIP's. YAY!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I hope you enjoy the pattern!

DeleteJust wanted you to know that after a twenty year hiatus, your Spring Into Summer blanket pulled me back into crocheting! All the updated and new equipment has made this new foray pleasurable and pain free. I just completed your Skittles blanket too. Thanks so much for inspiring me, my friends and family thanks you too!
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted to hear my work inspired you to pick up your hook. Crochet is such a wonderful craft. Thanks for your comment.

ReplyDeleteWhy, thank you, Sue! My favorite part is always playing with the colors! And there are sooo many to choose from in the Colour Crafter!

ReplyDeleteAnother brilliant creation, Susan! I'm looking for ideas to make for a friend who lives in the mountains, and I thought these repeats could also be little mountain peaks. Do you think the "crowns" would show up OK with fewer colors (or even a single color), or is it the color changes that make the crowns pop?
ReplyDeleteI think they would still show up in fewer colors. And I think it's a lovely idea as a reminder of mountains!
