When you've completed your intermeshing panel, grab your second whirl. The one below is Murderous Mint (C) from the Scheepjes Whirl Ombre Collection and your Whirlette in Liquorice (A), and poise that hook.

Window to the Whirl Part 2
Last week I shared the free crochet pattern for Part 1 of my Window to the Whirl Blanket which included the panel with the nifty little "windows" created by the intermeshing crochet technique. Today I'm sharing Part 2 of the blanket. This section, made with its own coordinating Scheepjes Whirl, is really rhythmic and relaxing but perfectly highlights the gradient fade of the yarn. Let's get on with the details of how you can crochet your own.

Window to the Whirl Blanket Reveal
In my part of the world, the crocuses and hyacinths have peeked through the ground, the forsythia is shouting in bright yellow blossoms, and in some southern facing flower beds the daffodils are in bloom! I'm still waiting on the tulips, but it will be soon, very soon. All these flowers spark my dream of opening my own flower shop one day. For now, I'm happy to sit and crochet in the crisp spring air that smells of freshness and sounds of birds getting ready for new birth. Today I even put out my wee table and green chairs--perfect for crocheting outdoors.
Speaking of crochet...remember the yarny peek I showed you last week? I've since worked out the border and my Window to the Whirl Blanket is officially finished!

I See an Aurora, Blanket That is {Crochet Pattern}
A few months back I was invited to design a blanket crochet pattern for Happily Hooked Magazine for their April issue this year. Since it was themed around cake yarns, I was thrilled because you might know that I've been a bit obsessed with Scheepjes Whirl* cakes lately.
When I got my hands on these particular Whirl colors, I knew they would work together brilliantly in a paneled blanket...

Trio Blanket Free Crochet Pattern
Have you got your three Scheepjes Whirls ready and waiting? If so, I've designed a fabulously simple free crochet pattern for you with a mesmerizing result.
Meet the Trio Blanket...
NL Beneden
If you haven't got your hook into any Whirls yet, I suggest you give this magical yarn a try. You can read my thoughts about it here, here and here. This is my third blanket designed with it and two more coming this year! It's simply, well, magical, like I said. Such varied effects can be achieved depending on your color choices and the order you use the three cakes.

Trio Blanket Revealed
Last week I popped in to share with you a sneak peek of one of my designs, but now I can show you the Trio Blanket in all of its glory!!
I made mine with three Scheepjes Whirls* (Green Tea Tipple, Sea Breeze Tease and Minty Black Velvet) shown above. Isn't it cool how the contrast starts out so sharp fades to a washed color in the middle and back to a sharp contrast? I've said before that this yarn is magic. Yep. Magic on your hook!

Working a Trio of Whirls
I'm still here! It may seem that things have been a little quiet from me lately, but don't fret. I've been super busy behind the scenes crocheting my fingers off. Literally, between the holiday decorating/undecorating, the nearly constant handwork and the winter weather, my fingers are cracked and sore. But no worries, I crochet through the ouchies--because crocheting is just too satisying, right? Fortunately, I've received a lot of tips from followers on my Facebook page how to prevent and treat those nasty little fingertip cracks, and they are on the mend.
I can't wait to share with you what I've been working on. First, the yarn...

Lightfall Blanket New Crochet Pattern
I was out that day marvelling at the eclipse while weaving ends on my latest design and decided that the name Lightfall Blanket was perfect. Let me show you...
I made this blanket with three cakes of Scheepjes Whirl*. Admittedly I didn't have a plan when I bought them. But I knew that I wanted to make something with all 3 together.
