So what's a Scheepjes Make-A-Long (MAL), you may ask? It's a bit like having your own personal crochet club, one that meets at your convenience from the comfort of your own home and joins together with friends to crochet a project, share progress, ask questions and rejoice in your love for crochet and yarn! I'm tickled that for this MAL we will be making one of my designs--a colorful blanket with lots of texture, color and interest called the Prism Blanket.
The Prism Blanket is a uniquely constructed blanket worked in two layers of triangles each layer being joined as-you-go. I love it, of course, because it's done in typical Felted Button fashion with oodles of color and plenty of texture. It's size as written is 100cm (39.4in) x 120cm (47.3in) but could be made larger, if you wish.

I know, I know. It's the blasted discussion of gauge. But, to be certain that you have plenty of yarn, I suggest working your first base triangle as detailed in the pattern, with the suggested 4mm hook and then measuring one side. If it measures at 4"/10cm or a bit LESS, you are good to go. If you are too big, I suggest going down a hook size to achieve the 4"/10cm measurement. However, if you still find that your triangles are too big, it may be that you are a "lifter". I suggest watching this video by Esther about the golden loop to adjust your stitch height to meet gauge. (I heard a little mouse say: There may be a bonus pattern at the end of the MAL for which you'll want enough leftover yarn.)
VIDEO TUTORIAL
We are very fortunate to have a video tutorial of the tricky bits (joining of the base and top triangles, as well as the first round of the border) by the smooth-voiced, ever-clear Esther of It's all in a Nutshell. Note that the video is made in English/US terms. The video will be available in this post when it is published on July 22, 2019. Thank you, Esther!!
