It's yarn!! The fabulous Dutch yarn company Scheepjes has recently released Maxi Bonbon and Maxi Sugar Rush which are the same yarns (and colors) in different sizes. The *Bonbons come in 25g balls--perfect for smaller projects or where you want to use lots of colors. Sugar Rush comes in 50g balls for those larger projects.
The picture above gives most of the info about the yarn, but let me summarize:
~~100% mercerized cotton with a high twist. What that means is that it doesn't split and has been treated so not to "fuzz". It maintains a subtle sheen and glides on your hook.
~~Laceweight (2 ply)--so suggested hook size is 1.25-1.5mm. That will give you a relatively firm fabric. I have worked up some swatches using a 2.25mm (B) hook and it has lovely drape.
~~Did I mention it comes in 87 colors? Seriously. 87!! And guess what fortunate person got every single one because I have the opportunity to work with Scheepjes.
Right away, I began playing with some color schemes. Here are just a few I came up with...
Crazy beautiful, huh? And there are so many more possibilities.
Now if you are a bit fearful of such a lightweight yarn, let me provide you with some inspiration from some other bloggers who are currently working with it.

If you are needing a good Sugar Rush or some *Bonbons (or all 87)--both *Deramore's and *Wool Warehouse have it available now!
I'll stop in shortly to share with you what I've been working on with my Bonbons. You can also follow on Facebook here or Instagram here (@Felted Button). I need more hours in the day with my hook, I tell ya!
