There are so many lovely shades of pink and purple available, and they were just singing to me when I got an idea of stacked color--sort of like a tower of books or blocks that aren't stacked so straight. Hence, the name Teetering Tower Blanket!
Now tell me how cool this would be if each color block section looked like a "book spine" with a little title written on it? And the "stack" could be in any colors that suits your style. I'm going to have to play with this idea a bit. It would be such a great gift for a bookworm!
Of course, I really love the play of colors, but I'm loving the texture, too.
I classified the pattern as intermediate--but only because of the color changes across rows. Honestly, the stitches are super simple and good for mindless crocheting.
I'm also really pleased with the clean and simple border, too. It has that same "blocky" feel as the blanket and suits it well, I think.
"Build" your own Teetering Tower for yourself or as a gift in any colors you want.
I've got a lot of fun things that I'm working on behind the scenes so keep in the "Button" loop for sneak peeks, pattern announcements, discounts, free patterns and fun crochet happenings via Facebook here, Pinterest here, or Instagram (@FeltedButton) here.

lovely pattern! and yeah, that book spine idea is actually very, very cool. Think also it could be customizeable for different people - but the spines would have to be tapestry to keep it clear and a reasonable size. On the other hand, you could make the MOST flexible pattern in the world with that idea. On the third hand (I'll keep it to this, even though apparently I'm morphing into being an octopus), perhaps cross-stitch on your original? No need to re-invent the wheel and again, titles can be customized to each recipient.... Anyway, notice how happy I am to make work for OTHER people. I'll go back to my own hooky (and non-hooky) chores now! Lovely stuff, dear!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Judith, you are a hoot! An octopus... lol! Thank you for thinking so much of this through for me. All goods ideas! Now I want to play with it and see what works best. Thanks!
DeleteI really like Judith's cross-stitch idea for the titles! You could also match the colour range to the type of book, i.e. soft colours for romantic titles and blacks, greys and burgundies for scary stories.
DeleteDas sieht sehr hübsch aus!
