I threw my "hook" in the ring for
this round of Design Wars, using Red Heart Heads Up yarn--a new fantastic bulky (5) weight yarn in brilliant colors and with the softest hand--washable, too!
This design is so whimsical and in typical Felted Button fashion, has lots of texture, color and versatility (you can make it a rug or blanket in any size from a lovey to king). And take a look at that whimsical border. Fun, huh?!
Best part to me--it's FUN to crochet! The back is constructed in repetitive rows that are just nice and relaxing. Then the ribbons are worked--in any colors you choose, of course--and attached with matching yarn and a hook. It goes super fast! Seriously, easy peasy!
Just out of curiosity, I tried making this blanket with some other weight yarn--mostly Baby Bee Sweet Delight from Hobby Lobby--and it turned out awesome! Seriously fun for a little one to finger and snuggle. I think it is versatile enough to be worked in any weight yarn--although I'm not certain I would want to make a blanket with thread--but maybe you do? ;)
Plus, take a peek at what Brittany of R&L Crochet Co. did with her test sample--a perfectly sized lovey, I say! And such elegant shabby chic colors!
You can find the Ruffled Ribbons Blanket and Rug pattern on Etsy here. And there you can read more about what the pattern details. It's also in my LoveCrafts shop here.
I've got my hook in another fabulous design--almost finished! Plus, be on the look-out for a free pattern coming tomorrow! You can keep in the "Button" loop for free patterns, giveaways, coupons and happenings on my Facebook page, or you can find me on Instagram (@FeltedButton) or Pinterest.

I love that blanket/rug - so useful and beautiful at the same time.
