I told you I couldn't wait. This precious little blankie makes my heart sing!! Tra-la-la-la-la! Self: Stop singing. You'll scare the children.
I have a bit yet to go--about six more rows and a border. That's about 108 little squares. And then joining them--which can actually be done join-as-you-go style. And then a border which I haven't designed yet. But can I just say the colors are yummy. And can you tell that it is SQUISHY!!!??
Very satisfying creation, if I do say so myself. A puffy patchwork tied baby quilt. And it could be done in any choice of yarn and colors! Oh, the possibilities are endless!
This is me and my little Luke in our jammies on Christmas morning. Having a child at forty has been such a blessing to me--especially with this all-smiles character! There are two words to describe him-- DELIGHTFUL & EXUBERANT!
HAPPY NEW YEAR, ALL! MAY YOUR YEAR BE FULL OF PEACE & JOY & CREATIVITY & HEALTH & DELIGHT & EXUBERANCE!!
What a handsome boy! The blanket is beautiful ... I could do with it now to snuggle under and shift this winehead. X
ReplyDeleteIt is precious, indeed!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so puffy and soft!!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out beautiful. Love, love it. As I always love the things you create. And little Luke is adorable. Hugs my friend, Karie

Hey Susan!! going over your 2012 pics!! ahhhhhh. I think I want to do the granny square featured. BUT I'm thinking of using a larger hook, all wool, and turning them into this years little Christmas hot pads. What size hook do you think I'd use as I will be felting them? Heading on over for the pattern :-)
ReplyDeleteJanie, What a fabulous idea to make it for felted Christmas potholders! The square works up to be 6" X 6" with a (4.5mm)G hook so I would probably go to at least an I (5.5mm). Of course, it depends on how much you felt them, but that should make a nice sized pot holder! Have fun!
