And the Circle Takes the Square--Crochet Blanket Pattern

Circle Takes the Square Blanket crochet pattern by Susan Carlson of Felted Button

The graphic simplicity of this blanket makes me happy. Colorful circles floating in contrasting squares with a border that really makes them pop! That's why I named it Circle Takes the Square. Plus, the squares are join-as-you-go and that makes me even happier!

And, of course, I really love...
...the rainbow colors! Surprised? Probably not. I used Knit Picks Comfy--a super soft Pima Cotton with a titch of acrylic for additional softness and durability. The pattern outlines the exact colors and quantities--but I love that I was able to make this baby-sized blanket with only one skein of each rainbow color (10 total) to keep costs down.

Since the squares are joined together on the final round, you can take the squares with you on the go and put them all together in a sitting or two. If you have never done join-as-you-go--don't fear! I've included a bunch of pictures at the end of the pattern to walk you through this part.

And if you want to make it bigger and mix up the colors, easy peasy because the border will still work no matter the dimensions.

I hope you love it as much as I do...

I've got lots going on behind the scenes at Felted Button so if you want to keep in the "Button" loop Facebook is probably the best way but, better yet you might want to join my Facebook group here to chat and share with other like-minded yarny folk. And if you want to share pictures of your Felted Button creations there, I always love to see what your hands create!
