When I was a kid I loved doing puzzles, so when I came up with the squares for this blanket, I was tickled at how many options there are for "puzzling" it together.
T
hus, the PUZZLE PATCH BLANKET was born!! If you have ever done any quilting with half triangle patches, you will know how versatile this square is. The sample above is the arrangement I chose because it was unusual, but here are just a few others that I came up with as I was playing with the squares before I joined them.
And this doesn't even scratch the surface. Colors, arrangement, size--sooo many options.
I used five colors along with the main color (they are all outlined in the pattern) but you could use fewer or more, too.
Adjusting the size of the squares is easy peasy, too. The pattern has instructions for a baby blanket/lapghan and a full size afghan, too!
I'm also pretty happy with the super quick joining method I came up with. It's really easy! And it gives the back of the blanket a little added texture, too.
You can read more about it and find the pattern in the usual places...
I hope your day is filled with lots of happy!
